Terms of Use

By using StockWise, you agree to these rules. They're written to be read, so please do.

Last updated October 21, 2026

1. StockWise is for learning, not investment advice

Everything on StockWise, including lessons, stock pages, Stock of the Week, weekly reports and AI explanations, is educational. None of it is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. StockWise is not a broker or a financial adviser. Before making real investment decisions, talk to a parent or guardian and a qualified professional.

2. Practice money only

The portfolio uses virtual money. You can't deposit, withdraw, win or lose real money on StockWise. XP, badges and lobby prizes are just for fun and progress: they have no cash value and can't be bought, sold or traded for anything.

3. Information may be delayed or wrong

Prices, charts and news come from outside data providers and may be delayed, incomplete or occasionally wrong. AI explanations can make mistakes too. Double-check anything important against the original source.

4. Who can use StockWise

You must be 13 or older to create an account. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission. One account per person, please.

5. Your account

  • Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
  • Pick a username and lobby names that are appropriate for a site used by students. No real full names.
  • Don't try to cheat (for example by using several accounts or exploiting a bug to get XP), break the site, or get into anyone else's account. If you find a bug, please tell us instead.
  • Be respectful to other players.

6. Friends, contests and Lobbies

Contests and lobbies are games played with practice portfolios and XP. Results are worked out automatically. If something goes wrong, such as bad price data or a bug, we may cancel a lobby, return the XP, or correct results.

7. If the rules are broken

We may change an offensive username or lobby name, remove XP gained by cheating, or suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

8. The site itself

StockWise is free and provided as it is. We work to keep it running and accurate but can't promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may add, change or remove features. The lessons, writing and design on StockWise belong to StockWise. News articles and data belong to their publishers and providers.

9. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use StockWise after a change means you accept the new terms.

A contact email address will be added here soon.
